| So currently there's a grid of heroes where there's not much to make you click a ghost or cow—you have to make an arbitrary choice.
My suggestion is to reorganize it a little bit so that when you click a hero, you see a little panel showing the abilities specific to that hero. Also, when you pick a hero, you won't be stuck with that (you should be able to change your mind).
Since we're talking about hero selection, maybe you can have certain heroes that are unlocked after you play x games or x wins or something (See StarDodgeBall for the an example of what I am suggesting). This would encourage people to play more games to see what the new heroes do. I know that some prefer to have games that offer no benefits of returning players but it seems that having that extra bonus for veterans increases the replay value and lifetime of the game.
And this game is awesome. Very awesome.

| Souls, thanks again for the great feedback. Everything you stated is currently being added to the game. Im in the process of adding a bank system which will record all your wins, losses, kills, deaths, missions failed and completed. These will provide points which will allow for players to choose from many different perks, pets and passive behaviors. Im also going to add unlockable heros for the players who meet the requirements. | |

And this game is awesome. Very awesome. My two cents on this: I think the bankable content (cars, aids, inventory, etc.) will be sufficient encouragement for players to continue playing. It'll be pretty bad-ass to walk around in a custom skin on your favorite hero with your favorite items, all while still enjoying the gameplay you've come to love. Keeping the focus on the gameplay itself will help players avoid burning out after attaining all the unlockables. While I acknowledge that unlockables are big motivators for some, perhaps having them available for all yet relatively difficult to attain is a fair compromise. I just worry that new players will find it discouraging to have a limited/merit-based hero selection or item selection. In my eyes, having full transparency is the least offensive to new players, while letting players earn items, weapons, inventory, skins, etc over a period of time is enough encouragement for continued play. Just my thoughts, but I wouldn't be heartbroken either way. Nice job thus far.

| One more thought - I suppose it would depend how hard it was to attain the unlockable heroes. Ex: Mineralz used to be super fun until the developer completely revamped the map and required unrealistic amounts of gameplay to attain unlockables that just weren't worth it. | |
